experience is a good thing...right??

It used to be a selling feature – a badge of honor.

Now it seems that employers are reassessing the cost/benefit of loyal team members. Many companies are laying off their experienced assets (yes, that’s what we are…assets) – and hiring employees with little or no experience.

Entrepreneur Magazine article: the most effective recruitment tool is retention.

This perspective suggests that you don’t cut your valuable assets loose, absorb the cost of training an inexperienced employee, then training again when that one leaves for greener pastures…and so on.

The benefits of experience – of maturity – seem to have gotten lost.

so many reasons to hire mature workers...

Entrepreneur Magazine article:

dedication

focus

punctuality

honesty

detail focus

attentiveness

good listening skills

pride in a job well done

organizational skills

efficiency

confidence

maturity

setting an example

communications skills

reduced labor costs
